Git-style version control for diagrams, no git required
Diagrams break the moment two people edit them: changes overwrite each other, nobody knows what changed, and 'final_v2_REAL.png' happens. Arialine gives every diagram a real version history — additive, attributed, and reversible — with controls anyone on the team can use from the Slack thread.
The version problem with shared diagrams
- Edits overwrite each other silently in shared canvases and image exports.
- There's no diff, no blame, no way to see what changed between reviews.
- Exploring an alternative means duplicating the file and forking your source of truth.
- Rolling back means finding an old screenshot in your downloads folder.
How versioning works in Arialine
Every change is a version
v1, v2, v3… each with a one-line summary, an author, and a link to the message that caused it. The root message always shows the latest; every prior version keeps its exact files on its own reply.
Undo and Rewind
Undo removes exactly one version's change-set while keeping later work. Rewind restores the board to an earlier version. Both are recorded as new versions — history is never rewritten.
Branching
Fork any version into a new board with its own thread and ledger, linked back to the source — explore 'what if' without touching the original.
Proposals for controlled channels
In review mode, changes become Accept/Reject proposal cards and nothing applies without approval — version control with change management built in.

Can I see what changed between two versions?+
Each version carries a summary of its change-set, and the ledger timeline embeds every version's render so you can visually compare the evolution.
Is history ever deleted?+
Only if you delete the board's anchor message. Otherwise history is additive — even undos are recorded as new versions.
Can I export a specific version?+
Yes — every version's PNG and HTML stay attached to its thread reply, and the current version exports as .mmd, PNG, or SVG.
